- Connected a scan tool and found code P0442 – Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (Small Leak). Inspected the evaporative emission (EVAP) system and fuel tank, but found no obvious concerns. Used the scan tool to seal the EVAP system by commanding the EVAP purge solenoid valve and EVAP vent solenoid closed and connected a smoke machine to the system. Induced smoke into the sealed EVAP system with the smoke machine and found smoke leaked from the fuel filler neck. Performed a visual inspection of the fuel filler neck and found the fuel filler neck was cracked.
