    • STARTING AND CHARGING SYSTEM TEST. INCLUDES: ALTERNATOR OUTPUT, CHARGE BATTERY AND LOAD TEST TO MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS.
    • Connected a scan tool and found code P0304 – Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected. Inspected the ignition system and found no obvious faults. Connected an inline spark tester to the ignition coil, ran the engine and found the coil did not produce a steady spark. Attached a lab scope with an inductive ammeter to the ignition coil control circuit, ran the engine, and monitored the ignition coil primary amperage waveform on the lab scope. The ignition coil primary amperage waveform monitored on the lab scope indicated the ignition coil was shorted. These test results verified the ignition coil was faulty. Upon further inspection found ignition coils saturated in engine oil due to spark plug tube seals leaking. Recommend replacing all coils due to age and both valve covers (spark plug tube seals part of valve cover).
    • VALVE COVER & GASKET – Remove & Replace – Both
    • IGNITION COIL – Remove & Replace – All Six

    • Test drove vehicle but could not duplicate symptoms. Scanned vehicle and found code U1000 CAN Communication Circuit. Cleaned battery terminals and ECU body grounds. Cleared codes and test drove, checked good at this time. Customer will need to drive vehicle and return in one week to recheck system. If symptom or code returns, M & N will re check at no additional diagnostic fee.
